Fire Alarms going off randomly- natural or paranormal

So, I am a paranormal researcher, and I found a place near me where fire alarms will go off (they are all 1970s and newer) at random times of the day, maybe about once every two weeks to a month. Is there any natural explanation for why this would happen?

While I believe in ghosts too (in the sense of souls in Purgatory who still occasionally interact with the real world) - I’d raise an eyebrow that that is the reason random fire alarms are going off in a building, lol.

Does the building fire alarm system still have power? Could there be wiring issues or electronic glitches in whatever panel still controls it? That stuff, I have a lot easier of a time believing rather than the paranormal.

There are multiple reasons why a smoke detector could activate. Most common would be environmental conditions or the detector is dirty. High humidity, steam, aerosols, dust, dirt and insects are all possible causes. Depending on location and circumstances, I would check and clean the detector with the first offense, or just go ahead and replace it.

It does still have power. I am hesitant to say that it is an electronic glitch, because I figure it would have been fixed when the building was repaired.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately, because this building is public property I am unable to mess around with it

So you immediately rule out electronics glitches, which are not at all uncommon, and you go straight to… ghosts. Got it.

It is a haunted location (have had REM-POD activity and EVPs)
