What do you suppose that first manual station is like? (since all we can see of it in that photo is what looks to be a cover)

So i found this

Is that a security alarm?

I don’t know about that, but those are two beacons (potentially of the rotating kind). No idea what they might be used for though. Where exactly are they located in that building?

Reminds me of those STI Lights.

I saw a fairly mixed-up fire alarm system at a record show today at the Holiday Inn hotel in Dedham, MA. An EST-3 system set up as conventional, with an EST3-LCDANN annunciator in the main entrance. The alarm signals are a mix of System Sensor SpectrAlert Classic and L-series horn/strobes and Wheelock AS and Exceder horn/strobes. A few of the Exceders were obviously replacing Space Age AV32 light plates, complete with one of them being mounted on an open Space Age backbox! The original pulls were Gamewell Centuries with a few of them still intact, along with replacement Fire-Lite BG-12 pulls, and I also saw an Edwards 270-SPO and a 278B-1110. For ceiling detection I saw a System Sensor 2400-series smoke detector and an ESL 449-type smoke detector, along with addressable SIGA-PS detectors for elevator recall.

Heres one.
901 Bowl, Funquest Bowl, Collierville, TN
Has a Simplex 4010. the lock is broken and is open, I tried closing it.
Has a 4009, old one too.
the pulls were 2099-9754’s.
the alarms were, probably either 4903-9238’s and 4903-9239’s. Or mechanical horns. has a green Astrid for candelas.

By checkout
and the system is ADT

Alright. Still have no idea what it could be though.

ADT huh? What the beacons are hooked to or the beacons themselves?

Woah, day 2 in nyc, a mircom voice evac system in NYC! never seen that before, it might be a FX-MNS-6000!
The red L series was on a farenhyt by honeywell system.

Yep the Green Asterisk corresponds to a 15CD unit meaning the strobe is not very bright when it is flashing. Do you remember seeing horizontal units or vertical units? The 15CD Horizontal version is the 4903-9236 & the 4903-9238 is 110CD with the Orange Triangle for the candela

It could be vertical

This Hotel also had the newer LED Genesis devices as well

Not really: 1.5 candela is dim, I can assure you!

Love systems with those old speakers, would love to hear how it sounds too. Odd that it has some Edwards devices, but still neat.

I can tell that that Genesis remote strobe has never once been cleaned (not sure what’s with the thing on top of it & the random square of different paint next to it though).

Ya those Geneses are ewwwww.
