The thing up top is a urinal cake & the thing next to it is tape. The 4903s have some paint on them.
Oh, really? Wonder how that got there…oh, tape? Kinda thought it might be that, but again: no idea what that’s doing there.

Simplex 4903-9236 Electronic Horn/Strobe (15CD, as shown by the Green Asterisk on the strobe reflector)
Vintage & Rare Simplex 4903-9102+2901-9838 Horn in a Building Nearby the Bank; The building with this Vintage Simplex also has System Sensor SpectrAlert Classics
That might be a 4903-9001 instead (not sure what the difference is but something tells me the 9001 is a lot more common).
That’s a 9102. The 9102 is a Light Plate. 4903-9001s don’t exist. The 24VAC version is a 4903-9152
YAY!!! wait, how’d u know???
Not anymore, the system is replaced by a Firecom LSN-2000.
Ahem…
I’m also going by the fact that the 2903-9001 is one of the light models of the 2903-series of retrofit plates, & so logically that would apply to the 4903-series as well (going by the table there also appears to be no difference between the 9001 & 9102, but I’m still going to assume that the 9001 is the more common of the two going by the aforementioned 2903-series).
Is that ceiling-mount white simplex speaker mounted inside an elevator? I’ve never seen that before but it makes sense.
Aha! That settles it. It is a 24VDC light plate! I thought they only made 9102s but I guess I’m wrong
Yes, that is. I don’t see too many elevators with Fire Alarms in them
I guess I’ve just known the rectangular ADA Compliant Simplex 4903 series for a long time.
Candela Indication:
Green Asterisk=15CD
Blue Circle=30CD
Orange Triangle=110CD
Audible Indication:
Silver Plated: Electromechanical Horn
Little Horn Buzzer, no silver plate: Electronic Horn
Disk in the middle: Speaker/Strobe (Older models had a matte black speaker with a light disk & newer models have a glossy lighter speaker with a black disk)
Here’s some of the models I know (Some of the common audible models); Most common models will be bolded & labeled with an asterisk. Models quoted will be a list of all models I found online. If they’re not quoted it means they were never found on YouTube, on an online website & eBay
