Outside of the restrooms, is where a red National Time 6" bell sits firmly on the wall.

Just an update to my last post -

The alarms at my Costco are most likely Gentex Commander 4’s (with the exception of the ones I already talked about), and there is a Fire-Lite BG-12X or -12LX near the panel, which is near the customer service area.

Today I shipped something at the post office in Stoughton, MA, because we were doing errands there so my mom figured I’d ship at the one there instead of the Brockton or West Bridgewater ones.
The Stoughton post office has a rather interesting Simplex fire alarm system. The panel is a red Simplex 4005 (located in the main lobby), and the signals were all TrueAlert horn/strobes on red adapter plates. I think the original alarms were Simplex 4051+4050-80s judging by the size of the adapter plates. They also had 4255-1 metal heat detectors. I didn’t see any pull stations, but chances are they are probably 4251-series T-bars. I am guessing at one time the post office had a Simplex 4207/4208 or even a 2001 system, then they upgraded the panel and signals (I guess they didn’t want to upgrade to a full addressable system or something.)

Target (Haggerty Road, Livonia, MI)

Inside the customer service area, is a Wheelock RSS strobe; I did not notice any other alarms or pulls here, but there may have been an annuciator.

That’s exactly how mine is! But at mine below the RSS are two keypads (one red and one white) and below the keypads is a pull station. There’s another red keypad at the entrance to the store, but that’s it.

Same with me except there is also that same set-up behind the changing room desk. The pull station is a Radionics T-Bar.

Actually, I should have been specific. The setup is behind the changing room desk, not the customer service desk (there’s nothing there).

Big Boy (Livonia, MI)

In the kitchen area, there is a System Sensor Spectralert horn/strobe next to a delivery door.

Rachel’s Little Cafe (Ira Township, MI)

The kitchen area of this restaurant has a System Sensor Spectralert horn/strobe.

Glen’s Markets (Oscoda Township, MI)

Alarms:
Simplex 2901-9838 horns on 4904-9101 strobe plates.

Pulls:
What I believe were Simplex 4251 pull stations.

A Wal-mart near me has four wheelock MTs on each side of one of the poles. Anyone have any idea why that would be done? Is it to make the sound louder for a large area?

I’m no expert, but that’s probably the case. After all, there are limited places where alarms can be placed in a Wal-Mart.

Anyway, I have an update to my church’s fire alarm system! There a mainly Gentex Commander 1 or 2’s, Notifier NBG-10s, System Sensor smoke detectors (I don’t remember the model #, but they’re the type that hang down pretty far from the ceiling), and a conventional Notifier panel (it’s something like a SPF-???). So far, they had to replace two devices: 1, was a smoke detector that was replaced with an i3, and the other one was a NBG-10 replaced with a NBG-12! I wasn’t expecting to see that! I wonder how long it will take for everything else on the system to be replaced.

Also, on the panel, there is a SimplexGrinnell sticker. That’s weird, considering that this isn’t a Simplex system.

Simplex will service ANY panel, even if it’s not their’s.

Centennial Plaza North (Livonia, MI)

The fire alarms inside these office buildings are Spectralert horn/strobes.

PetSmart (Livonia, MI)

Annuciators:
Two Radionics annuciators; one is white and I believe is used for burglary alarms, and the other one is red, used for the fire alarms.

Alarms:

  1. The majority of the alarms in this store are ceiling-mounted Spectralert horn/strobes.

  2. Next to a fire door in the back of the store, is a wall-mount Spectralert horn/strobe.

  3. The receiving area in the back has what appears to be a Wheelock MT4 horn/strobe.

Pulls:

  1. ADT-branded BG-12 pull stations; there are two at the entrance to the store that are blocked by advertising posts! :x

Judson Center - Oakland County Regional Office (Royal Oak, MI)

Alarms:

  1. One National Time branded Wheelock 7002T in a hallway.

  2. One National Time 4" fire bell in another hallway.

  3. I am not sure if this building is on the Judson Center property, although I believe it is used for foster housing (it looks like a house). The alarms there are ceiling-mounted and flush-mounted Wheelock 7001 horns.

Pulls:
National Time 641 pull stations inside the office and foster housing building I mentioned.

The lobby of the office building has what I believe was a National Time annuciator or panel.

Does your local bank have a stopper cover over the pull stations? It seems popular for banks in my area to have those stopper covers over their pull stations.

Of all the banks I have been to, I do not recall any of them having a fire alarm system, so that would include the pull stations behind Stopper II covers.

I have only seen two banks in Brockton, MA with fire alarm systems.
The Bank of America located near my old college has an ADT or ESL system with Federal Vibratone 450 horns with that “wedge” strobe, and the pull stations are those ADT 5050s (the knock-off of Simplex’s pull station). They have ESL smoke detectors (early 1990s style) and at least one System Sensor i3.

The Community Bank in my city has some kind of Simplex system (probably a 4001 or a small 2001) with an SAE annunciator in the main entrance. The signals are 2901-9833 horns behind 2903 light/strobe plates, the pulls are 4251-20s, and the only smoke detector I saw was a Simplex 2098-9636 “wiffle-ball” head on one of those flat 2-wire bases.
