Where is this? How common are Firecom systems in NY? I’ve personally only ever heard of one or two Firecom systems outside of the Northeast U.S.
In Manhattan, its super common, in the outer buroghs, its rare.
This is in the Hyatt Regency in Times Square.
there is no 8500 out there today. you wont find one
It’s 2026 so you may/may not be right
Check for one tomorrow
Like @Croatian_fire_alarms said, I doubt any of them are still in service.
Those are likely even harder to find then a full MXL-V, or a Simplex 4100.
There is a 4100 Classic in philladelphia still alive!
I agree, I believe that is a motion sensor for a security system.
Rare Amseco devicicals detecteroonied. Amazing finds especially it being with a Siemens heat detector.

Siemens Desigo Replacement, Unknown original panel, looks like it used to be a potter PFC-9000 with a PVX-25.
Nice! im pretty sure the panel used to be a 4002/4001 series panel.
That’s what I’m thinking judging by the gutted flush-mounted silver 4-bay 4602 annunciator right beside the EST annunciator. I also believe it was built in 1998.
Yep, a 4002 Possibly.
Aritech DR something motion detector from the early 90’s.
A full MXL-V and 4100 are definetly still findable today
The annunciator is in a different building.
