Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

So originally my Walmart had Wheelock S8’s which both played music and made the PA announcements here’s an image of one:

And kind of recently they went under some renovating and replaced the S8’s with newer P2RLEDs: (the latest image I’ve gotten of the Walmart was when they were in the middle of renovating)

By the way the actual system itself is a Bosch system

Doesn’t it seem ridiculous to do that? Even if they weren’t using the SAFEPATH system for music anymore, they could still use it for fire alarm purposes.

It’s already two months too late

Seriously? Replacing a perfectly-good voice system with horn/strobes for whatever reason? What the heck…

Definitely.

If you look around you might find the company that did the replacement, & in turn they might have at least some of it left: you never know.

Nice!

Sheesh…

They ought to have stuck with Edwards if you ask me: Notifier’s good & all but also way too common & overrated if you ask me.

Ooh, an “EST”-logo 270-series station huh? Neat.

This seems to be a common theme with Walmart nowadays. It’s really dumb, and it makes no sense, but Walmart does what Walmart wants.

My Walmart was renovated, but the only change was that the Radionics panel was replaced with a Bosch, and the restrooms got L series. The main store kept the original Radionics rebranded MT horn strobes, and one restroom has a spectralert classic for some odd reason.

Are the restroom devices remote strobes, horn strobes, or chime strobes?

Aww come on!

System Sensor Loser-Series replaced this, damn.

Let me guess, this system got trashed too. :person_facepalming:

Shush the Sheesh!

All are literally just system sensor led devices now

The devices they used to have include 270s (both siga + spo) and a Simplex conventional T-bar for pulls, SIGA smoke detectors, EST Genesis horn strobes + remote horns, Integrity horns, Adaptahorns, and Simplex horns.

Never got to save them because I was on vacation during the summer + did not know that the upgrade is going to happen

oh.. intresting..

What panel does the system have?

none, some suppression system in a wendys

I wouldn’t go that far but I do think it would have been nice if that Adaptahorn had been saved by someone.

Stop saying that, okay? That’s as pointless & annoying as “crashing”.

Man…

Neat, but probably not up to code given the red lens & “labeled-on” fire lettering, heh.

Oh? That’s rather unusual: can’t say I’ve ever seen any fire suppression system with a signal like that. Was it an Ansul restaurant fire suppression system by any chance?
