Not really…my elementary school installed ceiling mount TrueAlert Horn/Strobes in all of the classrooms when they replaced the old system. My guess it was easier to install the alarms in the drop ceilings than it was to run conduit all over the walls since there weren’t alarms in the classrooms prior to this upgrade. There are several other reasons why ceiling mount alarms would make sense in a school.
My school has ceiling mount and wall mount horn/strobes.

Also, all the alarms are on Code 3 horn.
Our school has had 3 fire drills recently. All the 34T-24’s are on Continous while the only Wheelock MT is set to march time.
