I’ve heard a lot of good things about the MS-5UD. I was going to get one as my first panel when I was starting off my own system, but my mother’s boyfriend pulled my ADT Unimode 9600UDLS out of a building, at which point it was given to me and became my property. I’ve never worked with a conventional panel before, I jumped straight to addressable. If I ever were to try conventional, the MS-5UD would be the panel I’d get.

Two things, please try not to bump old topics, and also no, technician jobs exist and panel replacements happen. What happened most likely was a contract takeover or the panel was simply inadequate to where it was replaced.
