I think someone just stole the fire extinguisher. Also, you can’t see it very well in the photo, but that key switch on the post is upside down and is not attached with screws- the wires are just holding it in place.
If anyone’s wondering, that Walmart has a Bosch addressable system with a SAFEPATH voice system. Surprisingly, they still use the SAFEPATH system for the music and paging (although it has been upgraded to use the new “Walmart Radio” sounds.
Jeez…hope both of those deficiencies get rectified at some point.
Let me guess: you’re referring to the fact that some Walmarts have decided to switch their music from their SAFEPATH panels to a separate music system & speakers for whatever reason.
If you look the bracket for the extinguisher is completely mangled probably someone hit it with the restocking cart and bent up the extinguisher. Possibly they got unlucky and put a pinhole in the canister which I watched happen with my own eyes once and they are waiting to get a new extinguisher. The place I worked at took about 6 months for them to recharge one of our extinguishers.
Yes that’s exactly what I was talking about when it comes to the SAFEPATH system. The Walmart stores in the neighboring city have the new sound systems (although they have always had horn/strobes) and they do sound better, but I still think the upgrades are a waste of money because the old speakers were perfectly reasonable for a store.
Jeez…I for one would consider that an unacceptable length of time for a piece of life safety equipment to be out of service for (especially one that’s meant for directly attacking a fire with).
Ah, thought so. Exactly: that’s the whole point of the SP40S having music input terminals (which was definitely a clever idea by Wheelock’s engineers!).
