Firelite BG-12LX help

Hello everybody,

I have a BG-12LX that I’m attempting to bypass the monitor module on but there is a resistor on the switch contacts so can I leave the resistor on the contacts or should I remove it? I plan to use it on a small alarm circuit with a horn strobe which will be around 12VDC or so (the BG-12 will be in the middle of the positive wire).

Thank you

Can you provide a higher resolution picture? The image is too blurry to see how the resistor is connected.

I’m assuming this is not for a “real” system?

I have got a bad feeling about this…

Like I said in my first post, this is for a small alarm circuit for demonstration purposes. Sorry if I didn’t make that clear.

attached below, sorry about the previous blurry one.

The left two terminals go straight to the switch. Try using those.

You have two options:
• 1. Cut the leads of the resistor
    2. Desolder the leads
  •
Just wanted to clarify!

Just take small diagonal cutters and cut out the register. Now you have an on/off switch and a non- listed pull station! But don’t worry, just means it can no longer be used on a supervised system. Think of it this way, the module is just like a zone on a conventional panel, the resistor is just the end of line resistor, you are simply removing the module and resistor.
