Has anyone seen one of these out in the field?
I’m honestly wondering what the purpose of this is. Break glass pull stations make sense, they provide evidence that someone pulled it and deterrence against false alarms. But a break glass fire phone jack? Maybe to prevent debris from getting in it? Wouldn’t breaking the glass cause glass shards to potentially get inside and mess up the connection? And it can’t be for preventing people from plugging things into it, it takes a 1/4" TRS connection which is really only found on audio equipment and guitars and the like…
From what I’ve read on the gamewell spec sheet for this thing, the break glass feature is supposed to “ prevent tampering “
