My local Kroger has green lensed Commander 3 chime strobes over the doors. They chime periodically. What are these for?

Could be for any number of things as Gentex makes those for various “general signaling” applications as they’re called. What seems to operate them in your case?
I have no idea! They appear to just randomly go off!
Maybe they’re for when a fridge is opened
@Alex_Wilkinson I don’t think so, the store is very busy, and it usually goes off about every 5 minutes, but that time varies.
A Meijer near me has green lensed Commander 3s above the main entrance/exits and they appear to be tied into the security system but it is hard to tell. Also I don’t know what tone they are set to.
Sounds very similar.
It is also possible that they are tied into the alert for when someone walks out the doors with something without paying.
Well, then this Kroger has a robbery ever 5 or so minutes!
Does the store have locking shopping cart wheels? If so it may be connected to a system to alert the staff about a cart wheel that is locked so they can unlock it. Saw this happen at my local ShopRite
The Meijer I mentioned does but I don’t know about the Kroger mentioned in the other posts.
Yes it does! I never thought about that! ALL the Krogers in Louisville have them.
we have some green strobed devices at the grocery store that I work at by the atomatic sliding doors and they are used as door faliur alarms
i mean, it is a kroger…
