Help Finding a Panel under $200

I think it’s time I take a Step up and Add a Panel to my Collection. But there is one Problem:

Panels are too Expensive.

Are there any Panels for sale that are Less than $200?

Unless you want a box of pretty much scrap metal, your kinda out of luck

Or check E-Bay for someone selling one who isnt in the fire alarm community who is selling one and doesn’t know it’s value, that is how I got my Civil Defense Helmet

Yeah good luck finding a panel for less than that: heck even 10 years ago they were still around or more than that (& I expect things haven’t improved at all nowdays).

What part of the country do you live? I may be able to help you out.

Cincinnati Area of Kentucky.

you can always try and get one from a building slated for demolition

Yeah, that’s always an option (probably one that’s not used enough no less. You’d likely have to get in touch with a local demolition company or your local city or county government & hope that they’re willing to work with you on such a thing though).

I did Contact that Guy who gave me My Wheelock NS. He works with Demolitions. But He hasn’t brought anything Else besides the NS so far.

I’m in Cincinnati. What kind of panel are you interested in and what fire alarm components do you already have?

The Panels I am interested in are Simplex and Fire Lite Panels. Mostly the 4004, 4006, or 4010.

The Fire Alarm Components I have is a Wheelock Backbox, Fire Alarm Wires, a Simplex 4606-9101, 10 Pull Stations, and Several Horn Strobes and Speaker Strobes. I also have a DC Power Supply that can go up to 31 Volts DC.

I can’t help you with any of those panels. I just have older conventional panels and suppression panels that were removed from service. Miscellaneous manual stations, detectors and nacs.

Out of curiosity What Brand or Model are the Panels?

Pyrotronics, Ansul, Autocall, possibly older Honeywell.

Woah! Those look Amazing! Especially the one with the Red Cabinet in the Bottom Picture! Just wondering can they do March Time?

I just noticed the Federal Signal Logo on the Panel in the Bottom Picture. I didn’t know Federal Signal Made Panels or Rebranded them until now!

The label on the panel states Autocall is a division of Federal Signal. The panel is dated 1981.

Does the Federal Signal Panel use 24V DC or AC Power?

I obviously can’t speak for pilot specifically but I’d imagine that its AC power input is 120VAC like with a lot of panels: the output is likely 24VDC, also like a lot of panels (though some output 12VDC instead).

Oh so that’s how Panels work with Power. I thought they only required Batteries. Thanks for the clarification.

Uh, no: almost all panels are connected to a building’s AC power (120VAC in North America & 240VAC basically everywhere else), which is their primary power source: a lot also have backup batteries in case said AC power should fail so as to keep the panel powered & thus protecting the building & its occupants. Sure thing though.
