I didn’t know if this was the appropriate place to post this topic, but anyways:
Is anyone here good with Amplifiers and speaker systems? My work has a small speaker system (22 speakers) with a QSC CX302 Amp, and a Satellite receiver music program. The problem we have is that the system will overheat (I’m assuming) about every 10-20 minutes, which the music will go down in volume, and sound scratchy. Would anyone know why this is? I’m assuming it has something to do with where the amp is, and the fact that there looks like to be a lot of dust buildup.
I wish I knew more about amplifiers so I would be able to help people with them, so I’m not going to give you suggestions as to why it overheats in fear that I’ll be wrong. Did you try Google and searching for overheating problems with that particular amp? OR is there a manual you have access too that would go over some troubleshooting? I didn’t want to ignore this topic so you’d be totally lost but I’m hoping those suggestions would come up with some answers you’re looking for!
It’s most likely being over loaded. I hope to god it’s a 70v system if you have that many speakers. Who did the install? How old is it? The amp especially crowns have a protection to shut down if they’re over loaded. However stop use ASAP m until this is fixed as it will damage the amp.
I’ll have to check the amp again for a voltage rating. I dont know who did the installation, cause it was about 15-20 years ago? Whenever they redid the restaurant last. I will try to convince my managers to do that, but here, we usually just wait for something to stop working to replace it, sadly. We had a Island Oasis machine in the bar that stopped working, even though we all knew it was going to go. It took them about a week to replace it.
