Horn/strobes in bathrooms.

One of thr gender seperated bathrooms at my college has a SpectrAlert Advance ceiling mount horn strobe in it.

That would literaly scare the crap out of someone.

At the Elementary School I went to in Michigan they have Truealert Horn Strobes in some Bathrooms.

In the Nurses Office Bathroom at Conner Middle School they have a Commander 4 in there!

They also have Commander 4s in the Locker Rooms in the same building and other Bathrooms, along with Commander 3 H/S in some Bathrooms!

They must want to Kill your Ears.

If the SPL requirements cannot be met by the horns outside the bathroom then there is no option besides putting a horn in the bathroom. Since it is a Commander, the tone might be set to 2400 Hz instead of a broadband tone inside the bathroom to reduce the amount of reverberation.

Oh. I thought all of them were on the same tone. But then again the Middle School also has Commander 1s so I must have mistaken the sound for the Commander 1s.

That is just a possibility. It is also possible that the bathroom does have an electromechanical tone for consistency with the other horns.

I have during an inspection, and had the customer get it changed out to a strobe only. Simply because it was deafening

At our workplace, all of the bathrooms have a Simplex 4903 ceiling-mount horn strobe, plus a ceiling-mount strobe.

The restroom at my school has a clasic horn strobe (white wall)

My school’s new building has EST LED Genesis Horn Strobes near the entrances of the bathrooms

There is also a bathroom in an art museum near me with a 110 candela Gentex Commander 1 in it

a Commander 1 eh? I like that.

At my local DNB Supply they have a SpectrAlert L-Series horn/strobe on the ceiling in the bathrooms.

A majority of my schools also had horn/strobes in the bathrooms

Goes to the bathroom and Fire Alarm Goes Off: BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Screams in pain: “AHHHHHHH!”

Looses hearing.
