My question has to do with fire drills in hospitals where there are multiple healthcare occupancies located on different floors. If a drill is conducted on the 2nd floor, say in the the ICU, do all other health care occupancies get credit for a drill since the entire building was alarmed?
In my experience the JC is far more thorough than that. The fire system inspection or drill is for the whole hospital, not just a floor or say the Radiology department. The system may work on the 2nd floor, but not on the 10th floor.
I’m a Fire Safety Tech for a big healthcare facility Nevada. Our facility is required to do a drill in every overnight patient stayed building, Once a quarter, per shift and per building. so, we basically do 3 or 4 a month to stay in complience.
