I was coming back from a small convention and we were walking into the parking garage and I found this. Is this rare or just old junk
Somewhat rare at least where I live. I’ve only seen 2-3 in the wild
The way I see it nothing is “old junk”, but just the same you better believe it’s rare!
It definitely isn’t common. I’ve only ever seen these in one building: a retirement/ assisted living community in my area from the early 2000’s. The original part of the building is full of the red version of these.
Not really, sorry! That appears to be a newer model.
I’ve never seen one IRL. Rare to me!
Apparently you’re not very familiar with that particular kind of manual station: the red ones are already rare to find, let alone the black Autocall-branded versions! (also, if you’re thinking the Autocall you see there is the same as the current Autocall, it’s not: Autocall was once its own company before being done away with by Tyco (former owner of Simplex) after they acquired Autocall in 2001 & was then brought back as a brand name of JCI some years ago after the latter acquired Tyco)
Do we know what brand the red ones are from?
Sorry, I didn’t write that. That is rare.
Possibly CPG Signal (which is now part of Potter) from what I can tell. Whether Autocall branded the all-red ones too I’m not sure however: the two all-red ones I have seem to have no brand name on them for some reason!
“I didn’t write that”? Alright: not sure I get that but alright.
Would you like the location? the building it was in has a bunch of them
I don’t think you can give out locations here, correct me if I’m wrong
Since it is a fire alarm in a public place, I can.
Just like sharing a rare siren location
You can. Locations of systems are shared all the time, mostly in Fire Alarms in Buildings 2.0
Incorrect, 1980s autocall pull. Rare
1980s autocall pull. System is more than likely a CD series or the MD Series. They are quite rare to see but it depends where you are.
