How to power speaker strobe with 3.5mm audio jack

I have heard of enthusiasts running fire alarm speakers off of computer headphone jacks, and as I just got my first speaker strobes, I was wondering if anyone knew how this was done. Any help appreciated.

Custom audio cable: two bare wires on one end, male audio plug on the other.

do I just connect this to the terminals on the device or do I have to bypass the transformer somehow?

You could connect to the audio terminals, but it’s not necessary as long as you are using an 8ohm speaker circuit and you will get more volume not going through the transformer. A headphone (3.5mm) jack will work (although the volume level will not be very high), but a line out that is not meant for headphones will not work.

thanks for your help guys

I’d also take a pair of old PC speakers and use that idek

I ended up powering it off of an old cd player stereo and it actually works great I just replaced the original speakers with my speaker strobe no 3.5mm needed
