could you provide a bit more context? what type of panel is it? are you using a desktop, laptop?

Typically the manufacturer has a isolation module that you can get. If this is just for personal use look at the this site www.RS485.com there should be a few there that will work isolating the ground for you.

If it’s an older panels and shows up as ground fault, it would be best practice to run under battery power as if there is an existing ground in system and you connect a laptop that is generating a ground, there is a chance that it could short out.
