I have heard/seen a 4050-80 with a white lens (not the white text one)

i remember seeing about 2 videos that had a 4050-80 with a white lens. the first one all i remember is that it was very dark and i also remember that the plate was on in the video.

the second was a demo where it had one of those weatherproof versions of a 4050 and it was in code 3. thats all i remember.

tell me anything about this if you have info about it.

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard anything about videos featuring white 4050-80s (unless they’re lost to time).

According to Brendan the University Of New Orleans’ computer center had white-lens 4050-80 + white 4051 combos at one time, but about a year or so ago they were sadly all removed (there is a chance they’re still out there somewhere though: if so I sure hope someone finds & saves them given their indescribable rarity).

What? I don’t believe such a thing exists as the 4050-80-series/4050-series was made long before weatherproof alarms became a thing (& for that matter long before mounting alarms outside was commonplace).

Are these what you’re looking for?

I unfortunately don’t have any information on them, but it could be assumed that they were a non-fire alarm model for class change bells and horns in colleges and schools, or maybe other uses.
