sorry if this is under the wrong section, but I just bought my First panel, a Kidde FX-10R, and I was wondering does anyone have advice? I got it for only about $75.00+$69.73 because the NAC 4 has no voltage with a bad contact. the rest of the panel works fine according to the seller. I kind of feel bad for the seller because these panels tend to go for hundreds if not thousands of dollars. the seller name on eBay is sx3fo_76. but anyway, I don’t really think I will need all 4 NAC’s since I’m installing it in my grandmas house and it’s only 2 floors and a basement, and I think NAC 1 will be the basement, NAC 2 the first floor, and NAC 3 the second floor, while the 10 zones will be placed based off the room in the house, to hopefully make diagnosing any other problems than the NAC 4 no voltage easier. I am waiting for my dad to get home so I can move it from my parents house to my grandparents house, as it’s a bit heavier than I can lift.
I personally feel that there was absolutely no problem with you getting the panel for that cheap, as it’s very difficult (if not outright impossible) to find FACPs for cheap prices these days, & the way I see it the seller should have gotten plenty of money from what you did pay them.
The FX-10R is a Kidde-branded Edwards FS1004 FireShield from what I can tell, thus most documents related to it should also apply to yours.
I don’t think I need any more documentation, it already included an Hardware compatibility list, and the keys, and the technical reference manual. I probably will go with all EST devices, as they are what my current high school uses, as they are kind of nostalgic.
powered it on, it powers on, can’t do anything else with it as I don’t have anything to hook up to it, or wires to use to hook things up. I stripped an old computer power cord to plug it into a wall
Then get those things as a fire alarm control panel isn’t much use/isn’t much good without devices hooked to it! (batteries too since you’ll get an annoying battery trouble otherwise)
