Thankfully I don’t see this nearly as often as I used to, but just a reminder to please, please, PLEASE refrain from posting anything that can reveal your exact location, such as the name of your school, exact addresses, etc. This is a very important safety issue that has come up on this forum several times over the years.
While generally posting your town is okay, keep in mind that smaller towns might make it easier for a malicious person to narrow down your location. So, while saying that you live in NYC could mean anywhere from Manhattan to Staten Island, that’s a lot different than saying that you live in someplace like Enid, Oklahoma.
As a rule of thumb, usually posting your state is okay, but use some discretion if you post your town’s name. Ultimately, if where you live isn’t important to your post, then don’t include it at all.
