Strobes are more difficult to work with because of all the high voltages involved. First thing Id do is disassemble the strobe and see if there is any obviously burn marks. If none exist, look for cracked solder joints, opening in the traces, etc. If all that fails, I really hope you are good with electronic troubleshooting.
Also, don’t bother to disassemble the strobe if you aren’t sure what you’re doing. Even in a dead strobe, those capacitors can hold some nasty voltages that can harm you if not properly discharged.
