Interesting / Unusual Alarm System Vids

A lockdown announcement. My guess is that this is an example of a Wheelock Safepath using its on-board MT tone generator. In any case, it’s rather unsettling to hear such a familiar tone playing this loud.

I could just imagine what it would sound like to have the 4100U whoop play through a giant voice.

It’s not impossible. Have you seen the gigantic Simplex speakers? I think the model is MA-2 if I recall correctly.

High Point Solutions Stadium (the main Rutgers football stadium located on Busch Campus in Piscataway) has a Simplex system with a bunch of the big bullhorn speakers, along with Wheelock RSSWP strobes, and the 4100U whoop is used. One day, I could literally hear the system being tested from a mile away, across the river on the College Avenue campus. Didn’t even realize where it was coming from at first, as the closest voice evac system was in the nearby dining hall, and that wasn’t going off. Then it finally dawned on me. I can only imagine how loud it is when you’re actually in there.

My mother actually goes to this mall a lot. I think its the one that is in Warwick right? He should have gone to the Old Navy I think? They have Federal Signal 450Ds with I-strobes on the ceiling. The TrueAlerts were coming from one of the smaller stores.

When exactly did System Sensor come out with those type of alarms in there? I can’t remember ever seeing them before.

LOL that tone was the tone my elementary school used as an outdoor bell to signify that recess or a fire drill was over. Indoors, the tone was a Wheelock MT bell. That REALLY brings me back.

The ONLY video I could find in 4 PAGES that has electromechanical horns or isn’t a Roblox fire drill. The alarms are:
Simplex 2903-9101/2901-9838 horn/strobes
Simplex 4903-9104/2901-9846 horn/strobes
Simplex 4903-9252 horn/strobe
Simplex 4903-9422

Simplex 2120 whoop with indiscernible speaker/strobes (probably rectangular 4903’s).

Another 2901-9838+2901-9838 combo. Is there SERIOUSLY nothing on YouTube except Roblox videos?

Oh My God it totally worked. WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED!?

I’d know those alarms from anywhere: Simplex 9219s (or one of its equivalents)

And most of those Roblox videos are just scams

More -9219s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUb5NlbJTUM&t=2m49s - Brief clip; Simplex 4100 slow whoop with SpectrAlert speaker/strobes!

Sounds like a Simplex 4903-9219 or its equivalent at the beginning.

Simplex 2901-9333’s on 4904+4905-9921 plates, going off in a gym.

9219s. Yasssss queen.

Wheelock ES-EL1-WS-24’s (semi-flush version of the ES-EL1, a.k.a. the “electronic 7002T”), as well as an AS in the beginning.

TrueAlerts (don’t care) and 9219s (do care a lot)

A brief clip, featuring a Space Age AV-32 strobe plate, with a red lens and what sounds like an Amseco motor horn.

From SAFETECH on Youtube. The first school has Simplex 4051 horns on 4050-80 light plates. Its in a march time signal and the lights have “FIRE” lettering on them. Reminds me SO much of my middle school, minus the march time.

Second school has Simplex 2901-9838 horns on Simplex 4903-9101 strobe plates, one TrueAlert replacing what I assume was a 4903+9838 and Simplex 2901-9806 horns on 4903-9101 strobe plates set to continuous. Reminds me of high school! Except the system was continuous, there were no TrueAlerts and the 4903+9806s were actually Space Age Electronics 2DCD horns on AV32 light plates.

I would like to know what search terms you use to get these nice videos! I want videos with more electromechanical horns to post here also! I can never find a whole lot of them.

Video from a Saudi fire alarm training center showing TrueAlert ES LED strobes in action!
