Interesting / Unusual Alarm System Vids

That’s an EVAX voice evacuation panel.

Hasn’t been posted yet, but probably one of the very few motels that I know of that have electromechanical horns (Wheelock 7002Ts). There is an AS in there also, probably replacing down a broken horn.

The EM 892s are pretty rare, but listen to the first alarm…

9833 horns on 2901 light plates in slow march time.

Love that sound.

Wheelock 7002Ts and a Wheelock NS

More Wheelock 7002Ts. This time in pulse.

Simplex 4903-9219 horns. I think that is a GX90 in the beginning but I’m not sure. I can’t see how it looks.

4903 TrueAlerts, SpecrtAlert Advances and a horn at the end that sounds like a 4051.

That mechanical horn at the end is actually skipping. It sounds like a Wheelock 7002 or 7002T. I’m guessing it’s a 7002 because they tend to be on the raspy side.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnJ8zV3vaJA - During the Duke Ellington Orch concert at Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club, the show was disrupted by a fire alarm that wouldn’t turn off.

It’s some sort of EVAC system producing a pulsed 711Hz (F5) tone. The saxophonist (Morgan Price) takes this opportunity to improvise along with the alarm.

That’s my kind of video right there - fire alarms and jazz!

Wheelock 7002T
Wheelock MT
SpectrAlert Advanced
Gentex SHG
Wheelock LSM

There are two NACs, one set for march time and one set for continuous. Half of the 7002Ts are in march time. For some reason, they used strobeless MTs with Wheelock LSMs. There is an older SHG with the strobe ripped off and one without a strobe that is trying to do march time. The SpectrAlert Advance doesn’t work for some reason. One with a strobe in continuous. There is also a dead LSM.

Wheelock 46T-G10-24-WH + EST G1RF-HDVM (Bells + a Temporal Piezo-Horn/Strobes scattered throughout the building along with other alarms):

(Yeah this was the first fire drill in that class and the exits in the cafeteria were closest)

Edwards 792s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mwt0P22x8Q - Signals are Simplex 2902-9732 LifeAlarm speakers on 4903-9101 strobe plates. The really unusual part is the tone, which you won’t typically hear in the US (I’m assuming this wasn’t filmed in Canada).

A video clip from YOUR channel. I believe you at one point had another video of this building up on your channel somewhere and you still might have it. I also think you were going by a different name.

Anyway, one SAE AV32 strobe and Simplex 2901 strobe plates. Like you said before, the horns are Faraday 6120s.

Actually, there are two AV-34’s. One in the hallway in the beginning, and one in the computer lab. Also, if you look closely, you’ll see another 2903-9101 flashing in the first hallway.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but it sounds like a 7002T on the wrong power
