Is the FCI MS-2 still being manufactured?

I was checking out a Gamewell-FCI | Honeywell Building Technologies data sheet for the FCI MS-2, and I noticed that the document was copyrighted in 2013. This got me wondering: does FCI still manufacture the MS-2? I know the data sheet could’ve been copyrighted after its discontinuation, which is why I’m asking.

Its listed on their website under current products, so probably.

I can tell you they were being made in 2014. My school replaced some of our broken BG-10s with them and they were NIB, and didn’t appear to be New, Old Stock, since the school district tends to use whatever it can get its hands on in the shop and all of the old inventory was used during the budget crisis of 2008.

Considering the 2013 revision of the datasheet lists the ordering information for new units, it makes sense that they were at least still available at that point, if not actively in production.

The MS-2 is no longer in production. It was discontinued in 2004 in favor of the MS-7 (conventional model) and the MS-7A (addressable model)

MS-2 and its associated pullstations were discontinued this year. The vendor that made them went out of business.
We are moving all metal pullstations to use SigCom units.

Doesn’t System Sensor still manufacture the BNG-1 series for Notifier and Fire-Lite? Why does Silent Knight (and now Gamewell-FCI) use Sigcom pull stations then?

Yes. The vendor was purchased by a larger company that indicated they are closing their manufacturing. We were disappointed by the news.

No. All metal pullstations are made elsewhere and there’s less companies making them. SigCom is one of the good ones left. Quantities of metal pull stations are VERY low so its more difficult to hit cost targets unless you want to spend $200 for a pullstation :shock:

Well, now I’m curious. Who makes (made) the BNG-1 series if not Notifier? If they made them in the past before they were purchased by Pittway then by Honeywell, who makes them now? I understand that System Sensor manufactures the BG-12 series, but did the same company that made the MS-2 also make the BNG-1?
