how big is it? alarm relays are generally small.
It’s a pretty small relay. The base measures 3.25" X 5". It’s also low resistance. The coils measure out at about 4 ohms.

The style of construction favors c. 1870’s with the knurling style and the gutta percha coil covers.
In that case, it’s probably not. Fire alarm telegraph systems wouldn’t really begin to go big until the 1880s. Only Gamewell and a few small bygone companies were there at this point.
