Look, I already know that I “Quit” although, I will only post just for fire alarm help because where else can I get help from, anyways, so I have gotten this simplex 4040 a while ago and I never powered it on, I don’t want it to kill my ears so I want to put it under a pillow, problem, I am kind of worried because it’s a dinosaur and I don’t want it to spark or cause problems, is this safe if I power it with a 9 volt battery?
the simplex 4040 is ac, I won’t work with a 9v battery

I for one did not know that as I don’t believe you announced such here.
That’s what I was going to say, & it’s definitely not wise having something flammable like a pillow pressed up against it when feeding it power either: perhaps ear protection would be the solution to your problem instead.
