Im in search of a System 5000 or AM-2020 for a project.

It’ll be easier to build one than finding a complete unit for a decent price.

The System 5000 will be easier to build than the AM2020, here’s the bare minimum parts for each:

Both panels use the MPS-24A power supply. You’ll also need the harnesses which can be a PITA to find.

System 5000

  • CPU-5000
  • At least 1 IZM-8
  • Other cards are optional

AM2020

  • CPU-2020
  • ICA-4L (chassis)
  • LIB-200, LIB-200A, or LIB-400
  • (Optional) SIB-2048/SIB-NET for annunciators.

Thanks, is it possible to Network the System 5000?

No, the System 5000 does not support NOTI-FIRE-NET. However, you can connect it as a slave panel to a networkable panel using a NIB-96 card.

For example, you can use the NFS2-3030 for networking and have the System 5000 as a slave panel. The 3030 will see all of the 5000’s points as modules, and you can ack/silence/reset the 5000 from the 3030.
