Las Vegas Fire Alarm History

I was reading up on the MGM Grand fire in Las Vegas, and it has got me thinking a lot about the fire systems there.

I know now a days, Las Vegas is pretty advanced in their fire codes and I’m pretty sure every system in Vegas is probably at least from the 80s and onwards. But I was wondering about the history before that fire. What types of fire systems would you see in these old Hotels pre-1980? What company put them in and how did they operate?

The only thing I could find was an NFPA document about the hotel fire that happened shortly after that, in the Las Vegas Hilton if I recall. The report said the first tower had a system that had bells, pulls on each floor, and no smokes, and the second tower had a speaker system with pulls and no smokes. The newer tower they built sounded like a brand new 80s system, with automatic detection everywhere.
