Hi can someone give me a step by step guide setting up fire and fault comms between a kentec syncro to a advanced mxpro5 via a hochiki input module
If you just want to know if the kentec is in fault or fire without knowing any specifics, you must either:
- Connect the on board fault relay to the input module (dual input is reccomended) and program it as fault. Make sure the input module can go off by a short instead of resistance change. Next you’d either need another input module or use the other input on the dual module for fire. also make sure it can go off by a short circuit.
- Same proccess like the previous option but instead you have addressable relay modules (dual is also recommended) coming from the loop of the kentec. you need to program one of the outputs as fire and another as fault.
- You can also link up the kentec to the advance with only one input module. this method would be the most easiest using the onboard relays but you could also do this with addressable output modules. I will explain how you would wire it on the onboard relays. you would need to wire the fire and fault relays in series. you would wire the fault relay on the NC contacts and fire relay on the NO contact with placing the EOL resistor from the input module on the fire relay. this is so if the panel goes into fault, the line would open up causing the input module to not see the eol. This is the least reccomended method though.
if you want the kentec to monitor the advanced aswell, you would do the same method but opposite.
