Magnetic security contacts for stoppers?

I was thinking about this yesterday, I wonder if you could mount security magnetic contacts on fire alarm stopper covers, and just have them hooked up to a monitor module. IDK, this is just a weird idea that popped in to my head.

This already exists as a built-in feature on some models.

It’s not allowed to be used as a fire alarm initiating device.

This contact would be useful for facilities that have pan-tilt-zoom security cameras, so that the PTZ cameras will properly record the person who opened the cover.

I was thinking as a supervisory condition, or the security condition on the Notifier Onyx Panels.

Yeah you can definitley do that.

With monitor modules, you can pretty much monitor anything that has contacts. We recently used them on a Mircom system, to send a supervisory signal for when a 120VAC SA/CO detector goes off.
