Drayton School District 216 features an Elementary, Middle, and Intermediate school, built in 1976, 1993, and 2002 respectively. An addition was put on the middle school in 2003, and a daycare/pre-k section was added onto the Elementary school in 2010. A school staff building was also constructed in 2012, making there a total of four buildings

Elementary: Simplex 4100U with a tied-in Gamewell-FCI S3 from the Intermediate School for the daycare and kindergarten section. The 4100U replaced the original Standard Electric Time panel after a power surge.

Middle: G-FCI E3 replacing yet another 4100U
Staff Office: G-FCI 7075
Elementary School
Notification Appliances
Common NAs here are Simplex 2901-9845 horns on 4903-9105 strobe plates which are installed mostly in the hallways, gym, large offices, and the all-school auditorium. Classrooms, bathrooms, smaller offices, the main office, and pretty much everywhere else have Simplex 4904-9105 strobes. Under circumstances, some hallway areas have remote strobes too like bathroom entrances. Few of the -9845 horns are replaced by -9846s, one -9805, and a couple TrueAlert horns. Two classrooms have a 4904-9137s and so does one woman’s restroom.
Another common NA is the “dreaded” Simplex TrueAlert. Due to the fact there is no smart sync, they’re all on continuous. Horn/strobes are installed in the lunchroom and some hallways. Strobes are in renovated classrooms and some bathrooms and offices. One classroom has a TrueAlert horn/strobe but the horn part was disabled. A couple TrueAlerts are replaced with Gentex Commander 3s. One Commander 3 horn/strobe can be found at the auditorium entrance, wrongfully ceiling mounted over the operator desk.
The Daycare/Pre-K section is on the Eastern part of the Elementary School. Signals are all mostly Wheelock Exceder horn/strobes, installed in the hallways, and classrooms; strobes are installed in the bathrooms. Commander 3 horn/strobes are put by the doorways leading into the section.
Before the addition, the pre-k/daycare was a lone hallway stretching to an exit, with a singular 2901-9845/4903-9105 combo. Original alarms before Simplex were Standard dual projection horns.
Initiating Devices
Most pulls are Simplex 2099-9795s, although there are the occasional 4099-9001s where a pull had failed in a test. The gym and some places have the old Standard Round pull stations, which are still reliable today, although one had been replaced by a -9001 after it got smashed by a basketball in 2006. All alarms in all gyms have covers on them after that incident. Pulls in the new pre-k/daycare section are Gamewell-FCI MS-7Ss, with MS-7s at exits.
Smokes are all Simplex TrueAlarms and G-FCI ASD-PL2Fs in the addition. One Simplex 2908-9201 is in the maintenance hall.
Intermediate School
Notification Appliances
Pretty much ALL the alarms here are white ceiling Wheelock LED Exceeder speaker/strobes and remote speakers, installed in the hallways, classrooms, common areas, gym, etc. Bathrooms and small offices/meeting rooms have Exceeder strobes, also ceiling mounted. Occasionally they are wall mounted. The school pool is also located in this building, with the pool changing rooms having speaker/strobes in the changing area, a remote strobe in the bathrooms, and a ET70WP-2475C-FW ceiling mount in the shower areas. The pool itself has the ET70WP speaker/strobes and ET1010-W remote speakers scattered about, all ceiling mounted. Pool offices have a few Exceeder speaker/strobes.
Originally, the building had Simplex TrueAlert horn/strobes with TrueAlert strobes in classrooms and other small rooms. The pool had Wheelock AS horn/strobes and RSS strobes, all weatherproof.
Initiating Devices
All of the pull stations are Gamewell-FCI MS-7Ss, with MS-7s by the exits. Smokes are ASD-PL2Fs.
Middle School
Notification Appliances
Because this school had voice-evac before the others, they had kept some of the older Simplex LifeAlarms on -9105 strobe plates and TrueAlert speaker/strobes (most of them in the addition) around. The newer ones are Wheelock E50s installed over some of the TrueAlert mountings and E60s everywhere else. Speaker/strobes are all installed everywhere except for bathrooms and small conference/office rooms or just small rooms in general. Those rooms either keep the TrueAlert strobes they may have or get Wheelock Exceder ceiling strobes.
Initiating Devices
Again, all of the pull stations are Gamewell-FCI MS-7Ss, with MS-7s by the exits. Smokes are ASD-PL2Fs, although there are a few disconnected TrueAlarms by the doors.
Staff Office
Notification Appliances
All the alarms are Wheelock Exceder horn/strobes, with strobes in the individual bathrooms, offices and conference rooms. There is one SpectrAlert Advance strobe in a bathroom.
Initiating Devices
All of the pull stations are Gamewell-FCI MS-7s. There are no smokes.
Clock/PA/Other (ALL SCHOOLS)
The master clock system is a Sapling Wired Clock System, with mostly Sapling analog clocks in the classrooms, hallways, and several other areas like the large office and the gym. A few clocks are replaced by Rauland analogs.
The PA is a Bogan paging system with Bogan and Dukane ceiling mounted speakers in every area except classrooms which have wall-mounted speakers. It plays a continuous bell tone for every period.
To make up, the school does have a lockdown alarm system for when the school goes on lockdown or drills. They are Wheelock Exceder STR-NRs, installed within the hallways, common areas, doorways, larger classrooms, and the exterior.
