Keep and use old Masterguard heat sensors or get something new? We bought them in the early 80’s
I think you should get something new ones, those are really old and probably don’t work very well if they even work anymore.
And maybe consider selling them on eBay because somebody might want to have some cause Mastergards aren’t very common they’re kind of rare!
I should preface this by saying that heat sensors should not be used as a substitute for smoke alarms, as smoke alarms provide significantly earlier warning. Heat alarms are best used for supplementary protection to detect fires in spaces that are not suitable for smoke alarms (such as the kitchen you mentioned in your other post), but spaces such as bedrooms should always be protected with smoke alarms.
If you have interconnected smoke alarms in your home but are looking for additional protection, I would advise buying new heat alarms that can be interconnected with your smoke alarms, so that the signal is audible in all parts of the home.
