My first adressable panel

Hi, I am ready to get a adressable panel, What panel should I get (I would like anything related to honeywell).

Personally from what I’ve heard the Fire-lite MS9200UDLS is probably the best way to got but wait and see what others have to say.

If you’re getting your first panel conventional is recommended to start out with, however if you’ve already had a fair bit of experience with conventional then you might be able to step up to addressable.

Avoid the Simplex 2120, the Simplex 4007ES, the Simplex 4010ES, the Simplex 4100 Classic, the Simplex 4100+, the Simplex 4100ES, & the Simplex 4100U as all of these cannot be programmed without the software which cannot be easily obtained (if at all).

The 2120 was addressable?

If you want a good simplex addressable panel, a 4008, or a 4010 CLASSIC are good options.

As far as any of us know yes, it is.

Yep.

ok, thanks for the help, where would be the best place to buy a panel. Without breaking the bank.

Good luck with that: these days finding anything for a reasonable price is just about impossible. Your best bet is probably Ebay like most people though (not really in terms of price but rather in terms of finding something good & (hopefully at least) trustworthy sellers).

thanks, I found a MS9200UD for a good price.

You can get the software for 4007ES, you just need to know where to look for. On the minus side, the 4007ES are a bit fragile and not as forgiving as it’s other brothers software upgrade wise.

Yes, but that last part is another reason to stay away from the ES-series (plus the fact they’re also difficult to find for sale, are extremely expensive if you do find one for sale, & that there are plenty of other much easier-to-use panels that you could buy & use instead).

Sure they are more expensive in general and in the case of the 4007ES require a bit more precautions but in the end it really depends what you are looking for. For someone that has used the Notifier/Honeywell programmer and the Simplex one, there is a huge difference. The Simplex one is easier and also more powerful. You can do way more in the software, the Honeywell one seemed much more limited. It was a few years ago, things might have changed since.

For pricing, you can always keep an eye on ebay and local ads, sometimes there is some pretty amazing deals. In British Columbia, BC hydro decided to replace all their Simplex panels for Siemens as they had some “killer feature” that gave them confidence in saying that they guarantee no false alarms. I wonder what happened since, i don’t think it’s possible to design a detector that is 100% false alarm proof.

I think it’s just best not to mess with them (& like I said there are plenty of other panels to use instead, & we have, often without great difficulty).

ok, I am glad to know about the 4007ES because I found a used one with an annunicator for $35 because the seller doesnt know what it is.

Where would I look? Its worth trying

That must have been one of the earliest applications of modern addressable systems. Does this mean there are addressable 4251-20s?

Kinda. There are pull stations with the same body style, but the model numbers start with 2099. They also have the big mapnet modules on the back

I honestly didn’t know the 2099 series went that far back. ironically enough, their big debut seems to be sometime when the 400x panels were around. way to strike the iron while it’s hot.

Where can you get the softwear?

You can find it on Google
