I recently came across this voice evac that sounds like an EST system, there’s only a message in the video and there is a incascedent light, suggesting a system possibly from the late 80s or early 90s.
Interesting… interesting indeed! Looks like there is an 8X speaker strobe in that shot.
I know of at least 4 messages that include the phrase “Do not enter the fire exit”, & that is one of them: two of the others are Edwards/EST messages. A friend of mine says that it could possibly be an Edwards/EST IRC-3 with an MVM message module.
Very interesting, would it so happen to have the DTMF 1-1-1 Tone? The voice also sounds different from the said video in the DTMF 1-1-1 post.
What do you mean: the one message I didn’t go into? (which is neither the two Edwards/EST ones nor the one in this video)
I do have a feeling this could be a Wheelock Safepath, since the flashing strobe could be a early 90s/pre-ADA E90 or E70,
The voice sounds like EST or Wheelock
I know at least this MXL system played a “do not enter the fire exit” message. Then again, almost any voice system can play almost any message if they just put on a custom message.
Yeah, that’s one of them.
A friend of mine says that there’s a chance the first video in this topic shows a system with a rare Edwards panel called the “5800”.
This message is quite common in high-rises in Philly, regardless of system manufacturer.
Here’s a random office building in the city that uses these messages: Welcome to 2 Liberty Place's Tenant® Portal
