MAN, thats a small strobe, do you think anyone would notice it if it went off? Please tell me they had horns there as well…
They’re the same size as the strobes on the 2903 plates. The wall’s blocks make it look small.
As far as audibles go, here’s a rundown:
Area 1 has a mix of mainly -9838s on -9101s, there’s also a -9806 and 4903s. Area 2 has the above pictured strobes, but I can’t make out any audible devices. Maybe they’re the PA speakers. The annunciator is an EST http://www.gesecurity.com/portal/site/GESecurity/menuitem.f76d98ccce4cabed5efa421766030730?selectedID=6066&seriesyn=true&seriesID= EST-SRA1, making it a QuickStart QS series panel.

In Nashville, both the Vanderbilt Hospital and Baptist Hospital had these strobes, and no other visible signals. These hospitals are both old enough, I doubt that they had speaker systems. Vanderbilt also had some SAE lights. At Baptist they are mounted on 2’x2’ grey plates.
The Marriott Charlotte Executive Park used to have red ones of those, but the system has since been upgraded to a modern EST
Embassy Suites in Indianapolis had those strobes.
They have those strobes (lights?) in one section of Robert Wood Johnson hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Some of the them are white like the one pictured, others are red. The audibles are 8" Simplex bells, mostly located right next to those strobes.

The first one is one of those Gentex speaker/strobes, the second is a Wheelock weatherproof remote strobe

From Stonehedge Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in West Roxbury (Boston), MA, here’s a Wheelock 70002T horn/strobe.
From Brockton High School, it’s a no-brainer! This is a Simplex 4040 electromagnetic horn behind a flush-mount grille.
Here’s one in the green building. I thought red and green are a good combo.
And one in the Yellow building. Red and Yellow make a nother superb combo as well.
Yep. There is also a 4040 not behind a flush-mount grille in a stairwell going from the gym to the pool and the girls’ locker room in the Field House building, and recently one in the gym as well. The pool also has what looks like a Federal Vibratone or Simplex 2901-9806 behind a flush-mount grille.
Incidentally, did you see the new Stopper II covers when you were there? They should be putting more up this summer.

Thought I’d give this a shot, name this alarm, found at West Junior High School in Brockton, MA (though it is no longer active).
That would be a Faraday Type 2 vibratory horn, if I am not mistaken.
Yep! This school had these as the main alarms throughout the building, but in 2007-2008, the horns were disabled due to a fire alarm system upgrade (they now have a Notifier ONYX NFS-3030 voice-evac system) and were painted over, except in the gym. I guess they found them too difficult to remove or something (likewise the school bells, as most of them are also disabled.) They also removed the original Gamewell pull stations.
It’s a good thing I didn’t go here for junior high school, like my parents did. The Federal Signal horns at East Middle School were bad enough!

By the way, no you live in a city in MA that has almost no money, it’s a very poor community who only does what is required. They left them there because it cost to much to have someone remove then and put a blank plate over the spot. The average home in your community sells for about 164,952 the average for most community in MA is around 600,000 in my area. I don’t expect you to know any of that though because you don’t watch the news or read the news or do anything other than watch cartoons all day and dress up as a coyote and post about fire alarms.
