New Project! Custom Simplex Remote Strobe Housings!

I recently got a 3D Printer for free from one of My Neighbors. I started designing Custom Simplex Remote Strobe Housings for Simplex 4903-9101 Strobes or Simplex 4904-9102 Strobes.
Here is a Picture of My Prototype:

How the Housing works?

Have you ever got tired of carefully Inserting Screwdrivers into those Tiny Slots on the 4903/4904 Strobes JUST to install them? Well now you don’t need to do that! With the NCB Sirens 4905-9135-DG Housing you can easily convert your Simplex 4903-9XXX or Simplex 4904-9XXX Series Strobes or Lights into Double Gang Remote Lights/Strobes!

In order to convert your Light or Strobe into a 4904-9102-DG Remote Light/Strobe, you will need to carefully push the Tabs on the Lens of your Light or Strobe so the Strobe or Light Will come out of it’s housing. Next, you will carefully insert the Lens into the 4905-9135-DG Housing. Make sure to put the original housing of your 4903-9101 or 4904-9102 somewhere safe in case you want to switch your 4903/4904 series Strobes/Lights back to normal. Finally, pass the 2 Red and Black Wires through the Large Round Hole on the Inside of the Shell then you will wire the Strobe/Light like you would normally, but instead of taking the Lens out just to install it, you can just mount it like you would with an Edwards Integrity Remote Strobe or a Wheelock LSM-24 Remote Strobe!

No more Risks or damaging the Lens from trying to install your Strobe/Light! With this Housing you can just Install your Simplex Remote Strobe/Light like you would with an Integrity Remote Strobe!

As of right now, none of these have been printed yet, but when I do finish these and finalize these Housings, I will sell these on eBay for $30.
This housing will work with the following Simplex Models:

Simplex 4903 series light plates

Simplex 4903 series strobe plates

Simplex 4904 series incandescent lamps

Simplex 4904 series strobes (not to be confused with the Newer Simplex Strobes of the same name)

If you would like to buy one of these once they are for sale, just message me and I will have it delivered. You can even order these customized to be Vertically mounted or Celling mounted or even in the Color White! You just gotta tell me and I will have them modified to meet customer needs!

I plan on having these for sale by the end of 2025 at the latest.

Neat idea, but just the same if an enthusiast wants to use a 4903 or 4904-series remote strobe as it was made then they’ll just have to put up with their mounting design flaw.

I’ve never mounted a 4904 Series Strobe (I don’t even own one lol) but from what I’ve seen in Videos, they tend to break easily if you aren’t careful when inserting the Screwdriver.

Cool idea! It sort of looks like it would make the strobe look like one of those old style Siemens ones.

A suggestion and a question or two: consider making the FIRE lettering a tad larger (maybe spanning the two screw holes) and adding lettering on the bottom of the strobe tube as well, for visibility.

Lastly, how deep is the “NCB Sirens” lettering raised or etched? Would it be so deep as to be visible the same as the FIRE lettering?

What font is it? Have you tried other fonts that may improve visibility like Helvetica/Arial Black, or Ubuntu, or Futura?

Lastly, have you considered selling copies of just the .stl file instead of finished parts? That way it would save on shipping costs.

For the Font, I have no clue what it is. I just used the default Font in the Website Onshape which is how I made this.

I made the NCB Sirens Logo the Same Depth as the Fire Lettering. Note, The Final Product may just have Written Fire Letters in order to make Vertical and Horizontal Housings easier to make. Similar to the Housings on the Simplex 4903 Rectangular Horn Strobes.

This picture of the product is only a Prototype, as the actual Product will change over time. EG I will have to add Holes on each side so the Lens can fit into the Socket.

Selling the Files: Perhaps. The reason I chose to sell the actual device itself is because I forgot to add the Holes for the Lens and in order to add the Sockets I would need to redesign most of the Model which I really don’t want to do. So when I print them I would need to cut holes out so the Lens could fit. If I did sell the Files and someone printed it they might not notice the Sockets are missing and when they try to attach the Lens the Housing would get damaged.

Also yes, I plan on adding Fire Letters on the Bottom of the Alarm.

Cool idea. You should also make it so it supports 4’’ electrical boxes, and maybe even put little plugs like on the Gentex SHG

I’ll have to consider that!
I might do a Screw Cover at some point (Similar to a Wheelock RSS) but a lot easier to Remove, or I will try a Snap On Design (Similar to an Advance or a Commander 3) in order to streamline it’s design to make it easier to install.
