New smoke detectors added to my collection

NIB ESL 509C and (from what I’ve gathered) Simplex 4262-5

Very nice! That Simplex detector could also be a Statitrol one, though I don’t know the model number of the latter version.

I wish I could tell because the Statitrol would be rarer. But unfortunately there aren’t any labels on the back.

According to this Datasheet that I found, (Since my school has these and I was looking) Depending on the listed voltage, it may be a 102-040 or a 104-040, with 102 being 24vDC and 104 being the 120/24VAC version.

From what ive seen, the Statitrol Model 40 Series detectors are quite interesting to say the least.

Thank you for finding that manual. I now have confirmed it being a Simplex but it is very cool to learn info on it.

If anyone here understands Simplex date codes, I am interested in the age of it.

Oh yeah, good find! Going by the datasheet the 24VAC/120VAC model, the 104-040, has a transformer on the back, while the low-voltage 24VDC model, the 102-040, does not, thus that should tell the OP what model theirs is even though the label on it is missing.

I figured since I saw a transformer on the back, it was AC and I was right.

EDIT:

All labels are on the inside of the detector. Once you take the cover off, they are right there.
