NFPA 2014 Report Out

Attend NFPA 2014 in Las Vegas. Great show, lots of new things from all manufactures. Here’s our booth for the year.

Left: Focal4 situational awareness software- monitor any device that uses IP in Google maps and 3D plans. The next generation of Emergency Communications and facility management
Middle: eVance Services: Connected to E3 (shown) or S3, you can conduct test/inspect over a iPhone/iPad. The panel is connected to the cloud and populates ALL the devices from the panel into the device.
Right: SWIFT - Wireless SLC off E3 and S3. Mesh technology with multiple paths, each device is its own repeater, 50-70ft between devices. The most popular item in the booth this year.

Packed crowds all day long. Everyone was interested in hearing about all the new products.

Had maybe 30mins to walk the show and talk to the other manufactures. My notes:
System Sensor: Low Frequency sounder base and 4-pipe aspiration detector. Both coming by end of the year.
Hochiki: Had a S3 clone. Small addressable touchscreen panel. Door was locked and couldnt get any info on it.
Siemens: New intelligent voice package. 64 messages, 3 messages playing at the same time. But the system is HUGE much like all their stuff.
Simplex: New 4007ES shown. See my report in the other forums.
Edwards: Nothing new. We know they have cut R&D big time.

Ahh, GWFCI is doing eVance too. We’ve been testing the Notifier equivalent for a few months at work before it was officially announced and have had good results so far.

Anything new from Notifier or Gentex at the convention? I wish I could somehow sneak off to Las Vegas to check it out but… time and money.

Didnt check out Gentex.
Notifier had two new products: SWIFT wireless (like us) and eVance (like us)

So you were beta testing eVance huh? Very cool and thank you. Was also involved in that product. Hope your business buys it soon.
