I am looking for some help in getting NICET training for one of my guys he is new with about 1 year of field experience

You should be aware, this is going to cost a bunch:

  1. Course Expense (and even the self-paced one has an expiration date).

  2. Multiple NFPA and IBC Code Books. Some NFPA titles are not even printable anymore, so you may need that NFPA online subscription too.

  3. Multiple Study books by the NTC company I listed above.

  4. Cost of the NICET exam, plus travel depending on your location.

  5. Some state’s labor laws consider that if you pay for the exam (because you are an awesome boss), then you must pay the employee as “on the clock” for the exam and travel.

You didn’t ask for this advice, but having learned the hard way from decades of employees, you MAY want to consider making the books company property and also having the employee sign a contract that says “must stay for at least X months” or else they reimburse you for it all.
