I installed a new CLSS with a new 640 and my 640 is set to node address 1. I get a NCM comm fault trouble. I replaced the nup cable, another new CLSS Gateway and double checked the pins 1 & 3 are reversed which is white and brown wires on the nup cable. I powered the panel down several times, The CLSS gateway is transmitting to the monitoring company (EM 24) okay. Tech support says possibly a bad nup port on the 640. Everything is new. 640 version is at 29.

to test the NUP port, make NUP to serial cable (need USB-to RS232 converter) open VFT software, and connect with the panel by Local Network, If the panel connects, the NUP port is fine.
I downloaded my program with VFT using the usb but not the NUP. I will try that asap. Thanks for the response and Idea to try.
Try changing the node address to 0. The panel is looking for a NCM communication module.
