Found this guy today, mounted on a wall in a basement of a building in Center City Philadelphia. Just had to rescue him for my collection. Not sure if it was used for an old fire alarm or not, it was mounted above a bunch of old abandoned electrical panels. So may have been an old boiler alarm or part of a paging system. Still interesting!
Old Autocall T bell - not sure of the voltage, but all it says on the nameplate is “AC SERIES”.
The “AC SERIES” on the data plate possibly means this bell was used in a series AC bell circuit which was common in very old fire alarm systems. Probably something like a 6 or 12 volt bell used in a 2.2 amp series circuit.
Very cool! Not sure of the age, but pre-1960 anyways. I’ve got some old break-glass stations that have the same gold colored Autocall sticker. Must be from about the same time period.
