A lot of those sure are nice!
Really? Wow… how old is it?
Nice to see you kept it for such instead of just scrapping it as most departments would probably do.
Very nice: I especially like the R/B lightbar, quite unique (probably makes the truck very visible too given studies say that using red & blue together is the best way of making an emergency vehicle the most visible it can be).
According to this page (which also has a much higher-resolution version of that photo) that’s former Cordlandt Engine 123, a 1987 Penfab/Ward 79 1750/500. Of note is that it served from 1987 to 2017 & that it has two of those “windshield wiper-pattern” lights on the front (forget the make & model of those at the moment). Here’s another page that features the truck.
Still there today? (& with mostly the same look it had then?)
I love that Quantum!
My cities department runs a few old trucks, however we have replaced 21 of the 23 engines with post 2020 Enforcers, and all but one ladder with post 2019 Velocity’s.
Our oldest piece that is still in service is this Brush, It is at Station 17 and gets 10ish calls a year:
We also have a robust fleet of 2000’s Enforcers and Dash’s still in service, most of them are now reserves but two 2006 Enforcers remain in service at some of the quieter stations.
