Old systems with no strobes.

Okay, I see. That can be good if the system has just one NAC sent around the place, and the panel does not do selective silence.

Ok I get it

My Grandma’s apartment building complex has 6 buildings. Two buildings are 20 story towers, and they have voice evac, but almost all the rest of the smaller buildings, including my Grandma’s building, has only bells. One of building had it’s bell system torn out and replaced with a Notifier NFS-320 system with NBG-12LX pulls and SpectrAlert Advance horn/strobes.

they tore it out most likely it was in bad shape

Bad shape it was in.

I don’t quiet get what you are tying to say

He was trying to say “It was in bad shape,” Yoda style.

Haha, Ok i was like ‘‘WTF’’ thank you for clearing it up.

There’s a couple of places here in town that I know of. One is my old elementary school that had an IBM system with http://www.dan.calvinet.com/IBM_4250_1.JPG break-glass pulls and http://www.dan.calvinet.com/IBM_4015-6A_11.JPG bells that did the http://www.dan.calvinet.com/ES_Fire_Alarm.mp3 4-4 code. Another is a local delicatessen that has a 4251-20 T-bar with a -9838 horn above it.

Interesting- that manual initiating device reminds me of European call points.

Same here. And IBM made great computers.

A carpet store in arvada has Faraday chevrons, and Faraday 6020 horns on the walls. Plenty of old buildings have just horns, no strobes.

The college I go to, CCRI, has a mix. The SpectrAlert Advanced Speaker Strobes that replaced the 4051s (sob) are ceiling mount and wall mount. In the library, there are wall mount with no strobes and there were some ceiling mount with no strobes. There were also ceiling mount with strobes and some wall-mounted with strobes. Near the outside entrances, there are strobe only SpectrAlert Advances though.
