Peerless Manufacturing Company

Question please:

I collect telegraph equipment, especially sending devices.

I have a telegraph sending device called a ‘bug’ made by Peerless Mfg. Co. in Fordson, MI which was a separate city from 1925-29 and was then merged into Dearborn, MI.

I haven’t been able to find out anything about the manufacturer and to the best of my knowledge, the device I have was never advertised in any of the telegraph industry, union or ham radio publications of the era.

My understanding is that there may have been a Peerless Mfg. Co. about the same time that made the mechanisms for the “break-glass-pull-lever” fire alarms of the era.

Does anyone know anything about the Peerless folks who made fire alarm equipment such as where their factory was and when they were active?

I don’t know if the two are related but I thought about this place in Detroit. Detroiturbex.com - Peerless Cement Plant

Very interesting!

I favor the fire alarm mechansim folks over a cement-producing concern making a telegraph sending device.

Thanks!
