Poor Condition Gamewell Century

So I got a really beaten up gamewell century and it looks and feels unsanitary so I wiped it down. After that, I painted it which was a fail, does anyone know how to restore this thing to as close to its original form? Also, if anyone has any extra gamewell or Edwards switches, let me know because this is missing the switch.

I wouldn’t bother restoring it. Those pulls go for fair prices on eBay, and that example seems to be pretty “well used”

Sandblasting will get the failed paint job and grime off, but with the sacrifice of the original paint and markings. If you don’t have access to that, sandpaper and a ‘strong will’ should eventually get all of the paint off. Then you would just need to repaint it with spray-paint instead of… whatever the hell you used. Spray it all with white first, then remove the rear semi-circular part and cover the lettering with painter’s tape and spray it again with red. Make sure the spray-paint has a gloss finish, because the matte variety won’t give it the original look.

A standard toggle switch that fits the mounting hole should be able to work with enough adjusting of the retaining nuts.
