Potter systems in the wild

I know there are a few in my area. For example, my local bowling alley got and addressable potter system with rebranded commander 3&4s A grocery store in my area had a simplex 4004. The 4004 died and was replaced with a pfc-4064. They kept the original simplex devices.

I have only seen one panel made by potter. It is at my work and It monitors the sprinkler system. It also has a pull station by the panel, annunciator in the entry way, a System Sensor Ceiling mount H/S, and a wall mount System Sensor H/S by the standpipes outside. I do work in a restaurant so that is typical.

A goodwill nearby has a potter system with white commander 4s. this is actually quite odd, as it is in a strip mall that has no system, excluding a amseco system somewhere.

Potter PFC-9000 and PFC-5000 systems were fairly popular in my area in the 2000s and early 2010s. The clubhouse at my neighbourhood tennis club, for instance, has (or had—not sure whether it’s still in service) a PFC-9000 installed circa 2004 with Notifier MPS-950B pull stations, System Sensor PA400 mini-horns, and Simplex 2098-9110 smoke detectors.

I haven’t seen a new Potter system in about 10 years. It appears that they have very few ULC-listed panels left in their lineup, which likely explains this drop in popularity. None of the datasheets for their AFC- and IPA-series panels seem to mention the panels being ULC listed.

I live in the US and Potter panels are becoming fairly common in my area. I didn’t see any until about 4 years ago but now there are quite a few in my area.
