Predict Undocumented Fire Alarm Variants!

Okay I see what you’re doing there.

That wasn’t a joke…

How do you know that the device you saw is 2-wire and not 4-wire?

W in WS don’t necessarily mean White. And I couldn’t tell anyway unless I seen it go off myself, and there’s also the possibility that it’s a 7004T.

There is a specific denotation with the letter R assigned to model numbers with red strobes. The WS would stay the same. However I forget the designation because they exclude it from the label like with the MT-24-LSM.

Wheelock ((V)F)3x(T)-VVV-VL-VVV¹

  • Note the VL designation… This version has a rare dual bulb VL light instead of the usual WS Strobe.
  • People have been known to modify their Wheelock devicicals to have a lamp instead of a strobe. Do not confuse these for the devicicals being predicted.
  • Given Wheelock manufactured VL remote lights.
  • Given other manufacturers used lights as an alternative to strobes (Simplex, Faraday/FOS, etc.).

¹ VVV represents voltage. (6, 12, 24, 110)

I think that might be the case for the WS remote strobe, but for horn strobes, the W letter seems to indicate color. For example, this datasheet lists an MT-24-RS that is presumably red.

It’s also. PLEASE SEE MANUEL.

I actually kinda need that because I’m looking to obtain somd MTs shortly.

Oops, I meant manual.

I don’t think there was a colored version of the LSM, since the point of the LSM was to be UL 1971 listed. The red version of the WS/WH probably remained in production until the red horizontal strobes started production in the early 2000s.

Simplex 2902/2903 Light Plates, 2904 Lights with Flasher Circuit(?)

  • Simplex 4050-8x series devicicals were produced with flasher circuits along with similar light plate products at the time.

I was going to quote, but for some reason it’s not letting me, anyway I doubt there would be a 2903/2904 with a flasher as by that point lights were becoming rare with strobes over taking them (2903/2904 lights are rare as it is). If there was it’s not listed in the data sheets. I know it isn’t in the 2904 data sheet I have

Why do you even use that term, can you not say “devices” or “NAs”?

Wheelock AMT-24-WM, WH, IS, LS, SL, MS and SLM

  • The Wheelock AMT-series, a derivative of the normal MT series, was a line of notification appliances that was offered for three (3) different types of signalling (e.g. one tone for fire and another for a general emergency event), thus can be considered mass notification. It also offered an additional chime tone along with the standard 8 tones offered with the MT-series.
  • The AMT-series, like it’s counterpart, can be offered with or without an attached visual signal (the AMT-24-LSM is a perfect confirmed example, with one collector owning one).
  • It can be assumed that, like it’s counterpart series, the AMT-series can come with a WM, WH, LS, IS, SL, MS, or SLM strobe attached to it’s body.
  • EDIT: Since the AMT was released in 1995, the WS Strobes weren’t offered with these since they were discontinued per UL 1971 Standards, the WH and WM remained in production for outdoor applications until the late 90s/early 2000s.

EDIT: Immediately after posting this I discovered an eBay listing of an AMT-24-IS, therefore one has been found. You can view the listing here.

The AMT was released in 1995, past the UL 1971 deadline, so I don’t think there were WM, WS, or WH models. There was an AES-DL1-WS-24 and AES-DL1-WM-24, since the AES was released earlier.

Actually it may have WM and WH where they were still in production for outdoor applications. Although I read something about an AES-DL1-24-LSM? Yeah sounds crazy but I saw that model number. And I even saw @CoolSimasGuy has one on Instagram.

Sure, but it is strange that there was no AMTWP-2475W to replace it.

I came across that too at one point and added it to the wiki when I found it. I don’t remember where I saw it, though.

It was Simas’ Instagram post you saw.

I didn’t actually see the device, just the model number. It may have been a UL listing.

Well he actually owns one and posted it there. He’s the only person to own one here.
