Rare BG-10?

I recently obtained 2 fire-lite BG-10s from an eBay lot, they even came with the original backboxes. The thing I’m confused about is that one of them does not have a hole above the pull handle like any other BG-10. I’m asking if this is rare because I’ve only been able to find one person that has a BG-10 similar to this one. If anyone knows, please let me know, thanks.

You know, that very well could be a rare variant since most have a hole in that spot for a break-rod. I wonder if it could actually be a late-production BG-10 since the break-rod hole apparently caused problems sometimes (thus it would make sense for the manufacturer to get rid of it).

Does it also have the original recalled inside switch that would sometimes not work? This would also make it more rare since they can’t be used in any buildings anymore.

No, the button does not have the seal around it.

Alright, I appreciate it.

What I said may not be true, but even if it isn’t that’s still quite a rare & unique BG-10 you have regardless!

All i know about those is dont over screw the cover closed. Only screw till you feel tension and stop. That plastic is brittle and will break easily.

Oh and some had the screw close from the front and some had a key lock from the side. That might be why your 2 are different.

And yes, there was a rubber gasket around the push button switch that would get worn and sticky and hold the push button closed even when the handle was pulled.
Those were a bad design in many ways, but a rare find for sure.
Sorry, im done now…
